37 – Sura al-Baqara 131 – 134 – Seekers Quran Tafsir – Shaykh Abdul-Rahim Reasat

Shaykh Abdul-Rahim Reasat continues his commentary of Sura al-Baqara, verses 131 – 134. This section starts where Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) submits himself to Allah Most High and commands his sons to do the same. Shaykh Reasat explains the lesson herein: It is not enough to be content with being on the right path; we should encourage and support our loved ones too. He then elaborates on the meaning of the word “wassa” (to order to what is beneficial). The concluding ayat in this section tells us that we will be responsible for our own deeds. We should not depend on our relations with others or our being from the nation of Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him). Instead, we should strive to do good deeds ourselves.
