Fasting and Ramadan: Change Begins With Reflection And Is Sustained By Gratitude – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani


A key to benefiting from fasting and from Ramadan is reflection. So as we approach Ramadan we should pause and reflect on what we are seeking through our fasting and through the sacred month. We should also pause and reflect on the blessing of Allah.

The times we find in Ramadan, like the daytime when we don’t eat and drink, and the time we feel needy because of our hunger and thirst, are opportunities to pause reflect. And a way to bring life to this reflection is to nourish it with the remembrance of Allah.

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, in this Friday sermon, highlights two keys to truly benefit from this Ramadan and from fasting are: (1) reflection and (2) gratitude.
