Sweden’s first madrasa on the cusp of launch – donations needed
Sweden is about to get her first centre of traditional Islamic learning, Bi’idhnillah. The Islamakademin, or Islam Academy, founded by Shaykh Salahuddin Barakat, has a building in Malmö, Southern Sweden but the team need your help putting in the final renovations.

The first and foremost center of traditional Islamic learning of its kind in Sweden, the Islamakademin will provide weekly classes in the Islamic sciences, gatherings of remembrance, special events with scholars from other countries and activities for all ages.
The main teacher and director of the school, Shaykh Salahuddin Barakat, studied with local imams and in Turkey before traveling to Yemen where his official studies took place. He studied both in Dar al-Mustafa and Ribat of Tarim, learning with Habib Umar bin Hafidh, Shaykh Umar Husayn al-Khatib, Mufti of Tarim Muhammad Ali al-Khatib, Shaykh Salim Ahmad al-Khatib, Shaykh Amjad Rashid and others.
