Day 5: Family Ties-30 Deeds 30 Days
Day 5: Visiting Family & Keeping Up Family Ties
There are countless Ayahs from the Quran, as well as Hadith, speaking about the greatness of keeping up family ties. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, had family members who were Muslim, and others who were not. He was always generous and kind to all of them, and taught us that family relationships are a sacred bond.
This Ramadan, pick a day where you visit a family member, in an effort to keep up family ties. It could be someone you see regularly, or maybe even someone you’re a little awkward with. If you don’t have relatives nearby, Skype them. Do it for the sake of Allah, even if it’s a little hard. After all, Allah’s promise is true and He will never disappoint.
