Critical Issues Seminar: How Do I Seek Knowledge?
On Friday September 17th, SeekersGuidance kick-started the Critical Seminars in Istanbul, Turkey at Bilim ve İnsan Vakfı Genel Merkezi with our esteemed guest speakers including Shaykh Basim Itani, Shaykh Muhammad Badhib, and Shaykh Abd al-Rahman Kharsa, and Shaykh Faraz Rabbani amongst many other distinguished teachers.
The first of the Istanbul Critical Issues Seminars was titled, ‘How Do I Seek Knowledge?’ ‘Nasıl İlim Talep Ederim?’, centered around how one can gain Islamic knowledge and implement it into their daily routine. The seminar was an excellent opportunity for our qualified teachers to answer various questions that striving Muslims may have on seeking knowledge in accordance with the Prophetic tradition and history, particularly in this digital age.
The main topics of the seminar included: the virtues & challenges of seeking knowledge, prophetic guidance on seeking knowledge, and the responsibilities of attaining knowledge.
Our Beloved Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, enlightened us in his hadiths saying, “Seeking knowledge is a duty (fard) upon every Muslim” and “Whoever travels a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him the path to Paradise.” [Muslim]
