Can I Pray More than the Sunna Prayer of Fajr before the Fajr Prayer?

Question

I would like to ask if it is permissible to pray a Nafal prayer between the Sunnah and the Fardh of Fajr.

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

I pray this finds you in the best of states.

It is disliked to pray after dawn more than the sunna prayer of Fajr before the Fajr prayer. [Shurunbulali, Nur al-Idah]

The Messenger of Allah (Blessings and Peace be upon him) has said: “I want those present to inform those absent that there is no prayer after dawn except for two cycles.” [Abu Dawud]
