Is Allah Sending Me Signs To Increase My Faith?
Answered by Ustadha Shazia Ahmad
Question
Whenever I am confused or lose my hope in dua, I see signs. For example, I lost hope, then I picked up my phone, opened Youtube and the title of the first video was “Never give up on dua,” or “Trust in Allah!”
Many things like this happen to me. I just feel like Allah is sending me signs to never lose hope so I want to ask if Allah indeed sends signs like that? Or these are just a coincidence?
I don’t think it’s a coincidence because I realize that Allah is testing me to see if I make dua and have patience and place my trust in Him.
Answer
Thank you for your question. May Allah reward you for being conscious of your Lord and for turning to Him in your time of need. May your relationship with Him only get stronger.
Good Omens
I don’t know if Allah is sending you signs or not, but these can be seen as good omens. Good omens are positive indicators that support what is established to be good. Ma sha Allah, if these are the videos that you find, they should give you optimism and hope and you should act on them. Anything that you see in life, that gives you hope, optimism, or a push toward excellence, is a gift and motivation and you should use see it as such. Don’t dwell on how or why it happened, but if it gives you peace, and increases your faith, take it.

From Allah
Remember two important things: Everything that comes to you is from Allah, the good, the bad, the people, the events, the happiness, the problems, the pain, and the pleasure. Also, remember that your reaction should be according to what we were taught by the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), and you are not expected to figure out if something in your life is a test, a gift, a tribulation, or anything else.
Act according to what pleases Allah and His Messenger, be grateful for every moment you are given, have patience in tribulation, and place your trust in Him. The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), said, “(Real) Patience is at the first stroke of calamity.” [Tirmidhi] Make this your goal, and strive to refine your character.
May Allah give you the best of this world and the next.
