Question

Can I Read the Manzil Daily for Anxiety and Depression?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

I pray you are in good faith and health.

Manzil is a set of specific, powerful sura and verses of the Quran. They can vary in number. Thus, you will find slight variations of the specific verses in other Manzil editions.

Quran is a Cure

The Quran describes itself as a cure, saying of itself, “We have sent down of the Quran what is a cure and mercy for believers” [Quran, 17.82]. In another verse, “Say: It is for those who believe, guidance and a cure” [Qur’an, 41.44].

Shah Wali Allah Muhaddith Dehlawi (Allah have mercy on him) writes in his book “Al-Qawl al-Jamil that these thirty-three verses ward off the effects of magic and are protection against satan, thieves, and harmful beasts.

[Wali Allah al-Dehlawi, Al-Qawl al-Jamil]

It has been a practice of many in the Indian subcontinent to read this collection of verses for protection from all kinds of harm, calamities, and diseases. It is a good practice for you to continue to recite these verses for your anxiety. Also, I recommend you buy the new edition of the fully referenced work on the Manzil. See the link below.

I would like you to go through the valuable answers and links below. You will receive guidance and direction in sha Allah.
