Do women have to remove non-gold rings from their fingers in order to pray?

Answer: Wa alaykum assalam,

I hope you’re doing well, insha’Allah.

No, a woman doesn’t have to remove gold (or other) rings before prayer.

Rings are from the “adornment that is manifest” that is permitted in the Qur’an. Allah Most High says,

“Say to believing women: … and [do] not expose their adornment except what is manifest of it.” [Qur’an, 24.31] Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) and others explained that this includes the ring. [Ref: Alusi, Ruh al-Ma‘ani, others]

There is no prohibition against wearing rings in prayer.

And Allah is the giver of success and facilitation.
