Answered by Mufti Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf Mangera
Question: Is it permissible for a woman to pray at home in her normal home clothes, which cover the awrah, khimar also being worn or does she need to observe the jilbaab and the khimar?

It is not necessary to wear a jilbab in prayer.
As long as the clothes she is wearing covers her awra properly, which is the whole body except the face, hands and feet, it would be permissible to pray in them. One should also ensure that the clothes are not tight or figure hugging as some from the mentioned styles tend to be.
