Supplications before Closing Salams

Question: What are the best Duas to recite in salah before we give our salams?
Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
I pray that you are well, insha’Allah.
It is a confirmed sunna to supplicate before closing the prayer. The sunna is fulfilled by supplicating (with any words) for non worldly matters. [Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah; `Ala al-Din `Abidin, al-Hadiyya al-`Ala’iyya]
However, the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) specifically taught our master Abu Bakr (Allah be pleased with him) the following supplication to say at the end of the prayer:
“O Allah, I have wronged myself a great wronging, and none but you forgives sins. So forgive me with forgiveness from You, and grant me mercy, for You are the Forgiving and Merciful.” [Bukhari; Muslim]
And Allah alone gives success.
