Is Water on the Toilet Seat After Flushing Considered Legally Pure?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi

Question

Is the colorless water that lands on the toilet seat after flushing considered pure if it shows no signs of najasa?

Answer

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

I pray this finds you in the best of states.

Yes, this water is legally pure because it is the remnant of pure running water. And pure running water remains pure as long as no sign of filth is manifest in it. [Maydani, al-Lubab]

Allah, Most High, says:

“Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you.” [2.185]

And Allah knows best.
