Is my salary halal if I continue receiving excess travel allowance after being transferred?

How should I compensate for the excess allowance I have already used?

Can I perform Hajj with money that includes excess travel allowance?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.

This would depend on your company’s policy with regard to travel allowance. If they stipulate that all unused travel allowance must be returned to the company, then this money is not permissible for you to keep. If the allowance is given to you such that any remaining money is yours to keep, then the money is permissible for you to take.
