Is it Sinful to Perform Ghusl and Wudu in a Bathtub After Exit and Leakage of Madhy?
Hanafi Fiqh

Question
My friend asked me a question, but I couldn’t answer it, and I thought it would be better to ask someone more knowledgeable instead of just saying something without being 100% sure.
His question was: “If I go to the bathroom and let much water go into the tub, and then I sit on my back, and two legs are stretched, and some madhy comes out. I then washed the place and performed Ghusl, and performed wudu again. Did I sin because it was in the same place I made Ghusl and near the place I made Wudu? I cleaned. I also repented.”
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.
I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.
It would be permissible to have a bath and perform wudu in the bathtub as long as you drained the water after a bath due to the leakage of madhy and water becoming used in the bathtub.
You will not be sinful for performing ghusl and wudu in the bathtub. However, it would be best to do wudu separately to avoid falling into doubts and misgivings in the future.
Madhy
Madhy, or presexual fluid, is defined as a thin, clear fluid that exits when one is aroused, yet not as sperm (mani) does, and its exit is not followed by a listlessness of the sexual organ. It invalidates the ablution (wudu).
Used Water (Ma’ Mustamal)
Water becomes used (ma’ mustamal) when it is used to gain reward, e.g., washing one’s hands at the time of meals with the intention of the sunna or gaining purity from minor ritual impurity, e.g., to acquire wudu or major ritual impurity, e.g., cleanliness after a wet dream or bedroom relations.
