Is It Permissible to Pray in Front of a Desk With Images in It?

Question: As salam alaykum,

Is it permissible to pray in front of a desk which contains a laptop, lamp and books which contain images?

Answer: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this message finds you well, insha’Allah.

Yes, it is permissible to pray towards a desk which has the aforementioned items on it.

However, it is superior to cover up pictures on books or magazines, if you are going to be praying in that direction, or to move them aside before you begin because the basis is that it is disliked to pray in the presence of pictures.
