Is It Is Permissible to Read Durud Lakhi?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Ustadh Salman Younas
Question: Assalam aleykum
I have a small booklet which contains various items to be read:
Durood-e-Lakhee
Durood-e-Taj
Dua-e-Ganjul Arsh
Durood-e- Akbar
Is it is permissible?
Answer: assalamu alaykum
After reading the contents of the Durud Lakhi, I found it to be unobjectionable. As such, it would be permissible for you to recite it. For details regarding reciting such invocations, please see:
What Is the Ruling Regarding Durud Taj? (Sending Blessings Upon the Prophet)
I would also advise you that you should not make the recitation of this invocation something that leads to dispute between your mother and yourself. If she continues to maintain it is impermissible, simply avoid reciting it in front of her or around her if there is the chance that it might create some friction. There are plenty of invocations we can recite that everyone agrees on and is comfortable with.
