Fajr Prayer, Sunrise and Makeups

Question: What is the punishment for missing salaah unintentionally, such as oversleeping? Once I performed fajr after the compulsory ghusl, only realizing after sunrise that I had not poured water in my nostrils. Do the warnings in ahaadith also refer to the one who misses salaah unintentionally? e.g. the snake biting in the grave from fajr till zhuhr for missing fajr etc. Also if sunrise is at 6:18 and I start fajr at 6:18 is my salaah valid until the end of 6:18 or at the start.

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

[1] It is obligatory is wash one’s inner nose. However, one does not need to ‘pour’ water into the nostrils. If one washed them, one can assume validity and soundness.

[2] The warnings in the hadiths refer to the one who deliberately misses the prayer. However, if prayers are being missed, something is going wrong in life.

[3] Your prayer would not be valid at that time. You would need to wait until sunrise is over (10-15mins) and then pray Fajr as a makeup (qada’).
