Does crying out of sadness during prayer invalidate it even if there is no audible sound?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate
If one is crying out with sound due to sadness, and it is due to the remembrance of Paradise or the Fire, then one’s prayer remains valid.
As for crying out loud, such that letters are uttered, or to moan, out of pain, (unless one is ill and, therefore, cannot control the moaning or noise due to pain, then he is excused too) or due to a calamity, then in all these cases, it will invalidate the prayer. [Tahtawi, Hashiya ‘ala al-Durr al-Mukhtar]
So, in your case, if there was no sound with letters, then your prayer remained valid.
