Does Accidentally Causing Myself to Ejaculate Considered Masturbation?

Question

I experienced arousal and a bit of madhi came out. Later, before washing myself for Fajr prayer, I felt some remaining. I pressed around my private area and ejaculated, thinking it might have leaked during prayer. Could this be considered masturbation?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

The Arabic word for masturbation (istimna’) applies to any cause of ejaculation aside from actual intercourse. [al-Mawsu’a al-Fiqhiyya al-Kuwaitiyya]

That said, causing yourself to ejaculate is considered masturbation (istimnna’); however if you did not actively arouse yourself and ejaculated merely by touching your private part without intending to do so – you would not be sinful.
