Will Vaping Make Fasting Invalid?

Does vaping invalidate fasting? If I vape forty days before Ramadan, will it invalidate my fasts?

Vaping while fasting will break one’s fast since the vaporized liquid enters the body’s cavity and breaks one’s fast in the Shafi‘i School. [Nawawi, Majmu‘]

Vaping forty days before Ramadan or on the nights of Ramadan will not affect the validity of your fasting, and Allah knows best. Please see this link.

Ruling on Vaping

Vaping (inhaling vaporized e-liquid) as a recreational activity is a relatively new phenomenon. Contemporary scholars differ regarding its ruling. The ruling on vaping depends on two primary factors. One, the ingredients of the e-liquid, and two, the proven and probable effects of vaping on the user.

The ingredients of most consumer-grade e-liquid (vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, nicotine [sometimes], and flavoring) are pure (contain no filth).

The information available online about the ‘effects of vaping on one’s health by some renowned online medical sources appear to regard vaping as harmful. If this is conclusive, vaping is unlawful, and Allah knows best.

Suppose reliable research proves that vaping is not harmful. In that case, the waste of money, imitation of sinners (who smoke unlawful substances), and preoccupation with frivolous pastimes still render the act of vaping disliked, as some scholars ruled on cigarette smoking, and Allah knows best.
