Is It Permissible to Eat Steak Cooked Rare?

Question
Does it matter how meat is cooked for it to be permissible to eat? I’m am asking regarding how long it is cooked and how hot, for instance for steaks they range between rare and well done. Of course this is under the assumption that the meat was slaughtered properly.
Answer
It is permissible to eat halal meat cooked to any level of doneness as long as one does not fear becoming ill. A rare steak would be permissible. I have read that when the steak reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, the salmonella bacteria is killed. Please see these answers as well:
