Question

Is it permissible to eat meat that has not been properly slaughtered according to the Sacred Law of Islam, if the meat is being served by my mother who follows an opinion given to her by her local Imam that in the US it is permitted to eat such meat due to difficulty?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

Short Answer

In short, it is not permissible to eat any meat that was not slaughtered according to the Sacred Law of Islam; a person living in a Muslim minority country does not change that ruling as there still remains many options of permissible food, such as seafood and non-meat options.
