If a Hanafi Does Not Remove Hair From at Least 1/4 of the Head, What Is the Expiation for Him?
Answered by Shaykh Abdul-Rahim Reasat
Question: Assalamu ‘alaykum, If a Hanafi does not remove hair from at least 1/4 of the head (as required by hanafi law), what is the kaffarah for him? Please provide a reference from books.
Answer: Wa ‘alaykum assalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh
I pray you are well.
One would have to sacrifice a sheep in this situation to compensate. (Maydani; al Lubab). It is extremely important to study the rulings of Hajj and ‘Umra well before setting off. The actions are complicated – especially in the case of Hajj.
I cannot emphasize it enough. I’ve had people contact me the day before leaving for Hajj asking what they should do when they get there. I don’t even know what to say to them.
Alhamdulillah, SeekersGuidance is providing an excellent, free learning platform. Please benefit from it, support it, and ask others to do the same.
May Allah bless you with the best of both worlds.
