How Do I Respond to the Tribulations Our Brethren in Palestine Face?
Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani
Question
How Do I Respond to the Tribulations Our Brethren in Palestine Face?
Answer
I hope you’re doing well, insha’Allah.
There is wisdom in tests, trials, and tribulations.
Allah Most High tells us:
“How gloriously exalted in beneficence overall is He in whose hand alone is Sovereignty; And He has absolute power to do anything. Who created death and life to determine which of you is finest in works; And He is the Invincible, the All-forgiving.” [Quran, 67.1-2; Keller, Quran Beheld]
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The people most tested are the Prophets, then those foremost after them…” [Tirmidhi]
Those who respond to tests with faith and steadfastness (sabr) are rewarded eternally.
Thus, while we feel saddened by the tests of others, we also have certitude that such tests are an honour and raising of ranks for believers.
How Do We Respond?
One. Heart: With faith and certitude: see these are tests from Allah.
Two. Spiritual Works: With prayer and charity for those affected.
Three. Worldly Action: Raise awareness in our circles and any principled political advocacy—directly or supporting those engaged.
