Is My Fast Valid If I Delayed Ghusl and Missed Fajr?
Shafi'i Fiqh
Answered by Ustadha Shazia Ahmad
Question
In Ramadan, I was in a state of impurity at night, and I delayed the ghusl. I missed the time for Fajr and made it up when I got out of bed.
Is my fast still valid?
Answer
Thank you for your question. May Allah reward you for your sincerity and for making up the prayer as soon as you missed it.
Valid Fast
Your fast remains valid as it is a separate act of worship from the five prayers. Your fast is valid even if you bathed after Fajr time entered.
