Will My Mother’s First or Second Dua Be Accepted?

Question
My mother was once mad at me, and she made dua that I get kids like myself. The problem is that I don’t like myself at the moment. I am trying to improve to become a better person than I am now, and I want kids better than me, not like me.
When I went to talk to my mom and how I was upset about what she said, she made another dua that I get kids better than me. I know that a mother’s dua is accepted but because she made another dua that I get kids better than me, is her first dua that I get kids like myself accepted?

Thank you for your question. May Allah reward you for wanting to be a better daughter, and may you be the kind of person that you wish to have as a daughter.
Filial Piety
I don’t know which dua Allah will accept, but you should strive to be the best that you can be and earn your mother’s duas for you. If you please her, and she dies being pleased with you, surely that will count in your favor, by the grace of Allah. I urge you to follow the advice of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) in the treatment of parents.
The Prophet also (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Let him be humbled into dust; let him be humbled into dust.” It was said: “Allah’s Messenger, who is he?” He said: “He who sees either of his parents during their old age or he sees both of them, but he does not enter Paradise.” [Muslim]
The meaning is that he doesn’t enter Paradise because of his lack of filial piety (birr al-walidayn). [‘Iyad ibn Musa, Ikmal al-Mu‘allim bi Fawa’id al-Muslim]
Repent
Repent for any misdeed you committed toward your mother, and treat her well when possible. The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Have taqwa (fear) of Allah wherever you may be, and follow up an evil deed with a good deed which will wipe it out, and behave well towards the people. “[Tirmidhi]
