Question:
Assalamu alaikum I wanted to know how I can use sidr leaf for a person affected by sihr. And some dua for healing sihr
Answer:
Wa Alaykum al-Salam
Thank you for your question.
The sidr plant is often mentioned in the Quran and authentic Sunnah of the Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace). Narrations of particular interest regarding your question is that of Umm Atiyyah and Abdullah both narrated from the Messenger, bless him and give him peace) that he instructed them to wash the deceased with sidr water. [Bukhari and Muslim]
I mentioned that these narrations are of interest as it forms part of the treatment method you are requesting. I may not personally have much knowledge regarding the various methods of treating patients afflicted with jinn-related ailments. However, what I have read is that some raqis (persons specialized in treating jinn) would crush the leaves of the sidr tree, mix it with water, recite the verse of the footstool (ayah al-kursi) and the last three chapter of the Qur’an, and then blow onto that water. They would then instruct the afflicted person to drink from that water and bathe themselves with that water.
Critics may argue that the hadith does not specify this treatment method; however, that in itself does not mean that it would not be permitted. In fact, most treatments of jin afflicted persons are deducted from the sunnah but not specified in detail.
And Allah knows best.
