Shall I Continue Making Dua despite My Hesitancy Not to Do So?

Question
I’ve been asking Allah (Most High) for something and making dua for it, but lately, I’ve been unsure about my feelings and whether or not I want it. Despite this, I continue to make dua to obtain what I desire and to ask Allah (Most High) to make it suitable for me because He said, “Ask, and He will give (what is best for us).” I don’t know if it’s Satan’s whispers or Allah’s guidance that makes me feel this way. I’m trying to figure out what to do or how to think about it, and I’m wondering if I should continue my specific supplication or not.

I pray you are well. Thank you for your question.
Yes, you should continue making dua to Allah (Most High). The remedy is to keep continuing; even if it feels burdensome, it will become easy. Understand we need Allah (Most High) and depend on Him for all our affairs.
We are Allah’s Dependents
Allah (Most High) says, “O humanity! It is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah ˹alone˺ is the Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.” [Quran, 35:15]
Also, if you ask, he will grant and bestow, this is conditional, and He will certainly fulfill your duas in these ways. Your Lord has proclaimed, “Call upon Me, I will respond to you.” [Quran, 40:60]
Abu Said al-Khudri reported The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “There is no Muslim who calls upon Allah, without sin or cutting family ties, but that Allah will give him one of three answers: He will quickly fulfill his supplication, He will store it for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an evil from him similar to it.” They said, “In that case, we will ask for more.” The Prophet said, “Allah has even more.” [Ahmad]
Dua is Worship
Dua is a tremendous act of worship; as the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, reported by Numan ibn Bashir, “Supplication is worship itself.” [Tirmidhi]
So take it as a success from Allah (Most High) that He wants to give you, and shaytan is just trying to divert you whispering doubts and misgivings.
You have two worries, thinking of Allah’s guidance turning you away and Satanic whispers. The following dua mentions these two matters, so keep your tongue moist with the following dua, always which is mentioned: Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) taught my father two statements to recite in his dua. These are:
“أَللّٰهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِىْ رُشْدِىْ وَ أَعِذْنِىْ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِىْ”
“Allahumma alhimni rushdi, wa a’idhni min sharri nafsi”
“O Allah! Inspire in me guidance and deliver me from the evils within myself.” [Tirmidhi]
