15- What Does it Mean to Have Success in This Life? Spiritual Counsel: Wisdom on Turning to God from the Islamic Tradition -Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

In this episode, Shaykh Faraz explains the thirty first and thirty second hadiths from the Chapter on Matters That Soften the Heart from the hadith compilation, Mishkat al-Masabih, compiled by Muḥammad ibn Abdullah Khatib al-Tabrizi (d. 741 AH). The thirty first hadith relates to us that “what is enough for you from gathering wealth is a servant and a mount in the path of Allah.” Shaykh Faraz explains that this means that in gathering wealth, don’t make wealth an end in of itself. Rather, look at what is sufficient for you and what would be of actual benefit. The thirty second hadith relates to us that “the human being is not entitled of worldly matters except for a house to live in, garments to cover your nakedness, and something of bread and water.” Shaykh Faraz explains that this is a call to focus on actual benefit in this life.
