In this episode, Shaykh Zahir Bacchus covers the 95th and 96th aphorisms of the Hikam: “He sometimes opens the door of worship for you, but not the door of acceptance, and sometimes afflicts you with a sin that turns out to be a means to reach Him.” and “How often a sin that bequeaths humiliation and neediness is better than worship that bequeaths exultation and haughtiness.”
We apologize as five minutes in the middle of this episode (around the 12-minute mark) were cut off due to technical challenges. This is the portion where the Shaykh switched from Hikam 95 to 96.
This podcast covers “The Hikam”, considered a classical masterpiece in spiritual literature – written by the great spiritual master of 13th/14th century Ibn Ata’illah. The Hikam is a book of spiritual aphorisms containing timeless and pure spiritual wisdom.
