In the Spiritual Counsel podcast, SeekersGuidance founder Shaykh Faraz Rabbani covers great texts from the rich Islamic spiritual tradition on how to turn to Allah, to cultivate spiritual presence, acquire Prophetic character, and attain true virtue.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a tremendous amount of importance to the health of our hearts. Shaykh Faraz Rabbani starts reading and explaining hadiths from the Chapter on Matters That Soften the Heart from the hadith compilation, Mishkat al-Masabih, compiled by Muḥammad ibn Abdullah Khatib al-Tabrizi (d. 741 AH)
In this episode, Shaykh Faraz covers the twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth hadiths from the Chapter on Matters That Soften the Heart from the hadith compilation, Mishkat al-Masabih, compiled by Muḥammad ibn Abdullah Khatib al-Tabrizi (d. 741 AH).
The twelfth hadith informs us that the successful are those who are content with that which was decreed for them.
The thirteenth hadith highlights the fleeting nature of wealth and how one shouldn’t be solely concerned with gathering wealth.
The fourteenth hadith tells us that three things follow a person two their grave: their family, their wealth and their deeds. Their family and wealth go back and only their deeds remain with them.
