Head of Development and Fundraising
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Development and Fundraising to lead fundraising efforts for our Global operations as well as SeekersGuidance Canada. This senior role will drive the core sustainability initiatives of SeekersGuidance by strategically driving and managing monthly fundraising and the Islamic Scholars Fund (ISF) program.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and supervise campaign execution to secure funding for our non-profit.
Fund Management Framework:
- Drive the monthly fundraising campaigns through SeekersGuidance’s existing donor databases to secure sustainable growth.
- Achieve sustainable growth, long-term partnerships, and diversified income streams for the Islamic Scholars Fund by creating and implementing donor development and cultivation strategies that will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base.
- Assist in establishing peer-to-peer fundraising through existing major donors, organizations, foundations, and philanthropic entities.
- Prepare presentations and pitches to cultivate and solicit support, and develop long-term relationships with key high net worth donors, sponsors, and other organizations.
- Coordinate ISF fundraising efforts across SeekersGuidance Canada and global entities, ensuring consistency and alignment with the organization’s mission.
Partnerships:
- Identify and secure new potential partnerships of shared value and relationships aligned with SeekersGuidance, which can support the growth of SeekersGuidance.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating a partnership and fundraising database with effective donor and partner communication management.
Onground Fundraising:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to establish and lead on-ground community fundraising campaigns and events for ISF across North America.
- Develop and execute donor engagement plans, including personalized communications and events.
- Act as the primary point of contact for donors, responding to inquiries and providing updates on ISF activities and impact.
Campaign Management:
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create compelling fundraising materials and messages.
- Monitor campaign progress, evaluate results, and make data-driven adjustments to optimize fundraising efforts.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the development and fundraising team.
- Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide feedback to all team members.
- Collaborate with Programs, Marketing, Finance, and Tech departments to ensure alignment of fundraising efforts with organizational objectives.
Reporting:
- Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts related to fundraising activities for Executive Management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements for fundraising.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 3-4 years work experience in Development management and Fundraising.
- An action oriented attitude and skill set with a demonstrable track record of working to process, driving fund raising campaigns and managing donors.
- Tech savvy and ability to understand and organize data and CRM functionality.
- Experience in educational or religious community organizations is highly preferred.
- Fluency in English is a must, Arabic is also preferred.
- Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and fundraising management.
- Highly-organized with the capacity to lead with effective decision-making.
- Ability to work to a tight schedule.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
