How To Determine the End of My Menstrual Period?

The end of my period goes like this: On the fourth day, the blood stops for about an hour and then comes back lighter red. The same happens on my fifth day. When I wipe, I see blood. On the sixth day, the flow stops, and my underwear is dry. But upon insertion and wiping, I see a transparent liquid with traces of light blood. On the seventh day, I see lighter red with yellow and white. Do I wait until I see the white thread in order to take my ghusl or is the dryness enough?

Answer

It is not enough that your underwear is dry in order to take your ghusl. The color inside the uterus must be clear or white, without any traces of color. Be patient, your period seems to be a healthy length of time, there is no need to rush it.

You mention that you insert when you check for the end of your period. If you are a virgin, it would not be permissible for you to check like this, you can use a kursuf instead.

If you are not a virgin, it is fine for you to check by insertion. Wiping and color on underwear don’t usually give a clear indication. See this link about determining the end of your period. May Allah reward you for striving to do the correct thing in Ramadan.
