The short answer is that you should still support him, love him and be kind. Have intelligent, knowledgeable friends around you that can influence him. Read the Quran regularly, so its presence is never lost in your home.

Pray the Prayer of Need for Allah to guide him and strengthen his foundations. Keep good translations in the home that he can have access to. Also, consider taking a class with him online or attending inspirational lectures that appeal to his intellect. Dr. Zakir Naik’s speeches on youtube are particularly good for eliminating doubts.

Be grateful that he has stopped drinking and smoking; the rest will come gradually Insha Allah. Allah, Most High, says, “And ˹remember˺ when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, surely My punishment is severe.’” [Quran, 14:7]

May Allah reward you, facilitate your situation, and reward you for your good intentions.
