What Do I Do to Rectify Doing an Illicit Sexual Act With Someone?

Question

I am a male and had sexual contact with my male gym trainer. We were naked, hugged, licked, kissed, etc., and gave each other oral pleasure. There was no intercourse, only oral and foreplay. Is this a lesser sin than sodomy? I am very ashamed of my act. I hope it is less than actual sodomy. What do I do?

I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question. Allah Most High reward you for admitting your mistakes and regret committing a sin. Allah is the Best to forgive those who want to be forgiven, and He is the Best to accept repentance for those who want to repent.

Just Sincerely Ask Forgiveness and Repent

Ask for forgiveness and make tawba. You just have to utter some form of Istighfar (Astaghfirullah) and mean it.  Most importantly, pray two rakats of Salat al-tawba. You must also regret the sin and intend never to repeat it. See the links below for more information about Repentance (tawba).
