Does Saying the Glorifications of the Prostration after It Break the Prayer?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi

Question

Does that break prayer if one continues the third “Subhana rabbi al-A‘la” while getting up from the sujud?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

I pray this finds you in the best of states.

No, your prayer will remain valid because you have not missed any of the obligatory actions and conditions of the prayer. [Shurunbulali, Nur al-Idah]

Nonetheless, you are missing the sunna of uttering the glorifications in their proper places. Thus, you should avoid it. [Ibid.]

The Messenger of Allah (Blessings and peace upon him) has said: “Pray as you see me pray.” [Bukhari]
