Is It Disbelief to Believe That Allah Manifests Himself Into Us?
Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani
Question
Is it kufr for me to believe that Allah manifests himself into us?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful and Compassionate
I hope you’re doing well, insha’Allah.
This isn’t kufr, if understood soundly.
Allah’s Manifesting Himself is His placing experiential consciousness of Him in our hearts. It has no element of physicality nor direction—as Allah Most High is exalted beyond time and place.
Allah is known and experienced through knowing and realizing the implications of His Names and Attributes; and through nurturing one’s faith through sincerity in worship, remembrance, and through having intentions in all one’s worldly and social actions—while striving to make them accord with the excellence of the sunna of His Beloved (peace and blessings be upon him).
And Allah is the giver of success and facilitation.
