How Can I Marry a Muslim Man Without Harming His Faith?

I am a non-Muslim girl and I want to marry a Muslim boy. We love each other. He says that he will accept me and I can keep following my faith.
I don’t want to harm his faith by making a rash decision. What should I do?

Thank you for reaching out with your question. I commend your degree of honor and respect for this young man and I pray that Allah puts love and peace between you in a way that is pleasing to Him.
Ruling
It is not permissible for him to marry you unless you are Muslim, Christian, or Jewish. If you are neither of the above, he will effectively be living his life daily with you in fornication, unrecognized by Islamic law, and any children that you have will have no right to inheritance from him. If you really care about this man, you simply cannot condemn him to this fate.

Conversion
Becoming Muslim is the only way for you to marry him, or you two must walk away from this. Converting to Islam is not a difficult or mind-boggling thing, and you will find that Islam lies perfectly in line with one’s innate disposition that one is born with. Believing that there is no God but one and that Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) came to fulfill that message and give us a religion that God perfected for us, with a book that has not changed since it was revealed, are quite compelling. Islam also confirms all of the previous prophets that millions of people believe in, Adam, Moses, Jesus, Noah, Soloman, Joseph, Lot, David, Zachary, Mary, Job, Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael…..may Allah bless them all with peace.
