Will Cupping Cure Ulcerative Colitis?

Question

Will cupping help with my son’s illness. He is suffering from ulcerative colitis. He is 12 years old and has had the illness since he was 5 years old.

I pray you are well.

In all honesty, I don’t know. This question is best posed to a doctor, or a certified cupping practitioner who has a background in medicine. Scholars disagree on the effects of cupping, with some stating that the hadiths regarding it are directed to the Arabs only. (Jassus; Sharh al Shama’il)

In general, “Allah has not created any illness except that He has manifested a cure for it too,“ as the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, said. (Bukhari)  Have hope, and keep searching for a cure. It will turn up, insha’Allah.
