How Should I Deal With Extra Money Sent by My Employer?

Question: I was paid an extra four monthly salaries. I did inform my employer. Now, a few months have passed and I have not heard from him. Given the current circumstances, is this money haram and will it be serving as a blockage for the acceptance of my supplications?

You should put this wealth aside until you hear back from your previous employer. Try to contact them again regarding the situation so you can receive an answer as soon as possible.

You are not sinful for having the money in your account, since it was placed there without your knowledge or approval. However, you should avoid using this money due to the uncertainty surrounding its ownership.
