Great Amount of Obligatory Prayers Prayed Sitting Down: Should I Repeat Them?

Question: Asalaamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu
I recently found out that standing is an obligatory action of prayer. I prayed all my make up prayer sitting down as I thought it will be done quickly.Should I repeat them? What about those obligatory prayers I prayed sitting down because of real pain?

Answer:
Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.
Yes, any obligatory (fard) or necessary (wajib) prayers prayed sitting down without genuine excuse must be repeated.
The standing (qiyam) is an obligatory act of the obligatory prayer. If missed, without a valid excuse, the prayer is invalid.
Consider this an opportunity to gain closeness to Allah, to show gratitude for the blessing of another chance, and a means of becoming of the truly righteous.
Moreover, this is why knowledge is so imperative. Invalid means that it is as if you have not prayed. Considering the words of the Holy Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), “The first thing a servant will be asked about is his prayer” [Tirmidhi], this is a serious matter.
