Can I Just Wash the Root of My Hair and My Scalp During the Ritual Bath If My Hair Is Too Long?
Hanafi Fiqh

Question:Assalam alaykum,
I am a woman. If my hair are long and not braided, must all the hair be washed, or the roots and the scalp also suffice?
Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
The exception pertains to braided hair because of the dispensation granted by the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) to women.
Otherwise, the obligation to wash the entire body remains, and having long hair would not be a sufficient excuse to wash only the roots on the head.
However, you could simply braid your hair quickly right before showering as being somebody who regular braids their hair is not a condition for the aforementioned ruling to apply.

And Allah Most High alone knows best.
