Can I Put Leather Socks Long Before Making Wudu While Keeping Them On?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam
Question: Assalam alaykum
Can I wash my feet in the morning before putting on leather socks and perform wudu (and wipe over the socks) later in the day?
Answer: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
Yes, you can wash your feet in the morning, wear your footgear, and then perform the ablution (wudu) later. This is on condition that you do not do anything which invalidates the ablution between wearing the footgear and completing the ablution. But this manner of delay would normally be improper.
