Answered by Shaykh Abdullah Anik Misra
Question
What is the name of the Companion who entered the mosque and Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) delivering the Friday khutbah and he asked him to pray two rakats?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate,
The name of this Companion was Sulayk al-Ghatafani (may Allah be pleased with him).
In Sahih Muslim, it is narrated on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that, “Sulayk al-Ghatafani entered the mosque on Friday while the Prophet was on the pulpit and sat down before praying. The Prophet said: ‘O Sulayk! Did you pray two rakats?’ Then he (the Prophet) said, ‘Stand up and pray them.’” (Muslim, Sahih)
