Does Pus from a Pimple Break Wudu?

Question

Does pus from a pimple break wudu?

Answer

I pray this finds you in the best of states.
Yes, your prayer was valid because the pus from your pimple did not cross the limit of your limit by itself to flow over your skin. As long as the pus remains at the exit point of your skin, wudu is not broken and a wudu performed in this state is valid. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

As for pus being taken out through a piece of cotton, it won’t break wudu for the same reason: pus was not flowing. [ibid]

The Messenger of Allah (Blessings and Peace be upon Him): “Wudu is due after any flowing blood.” [Daraqutni]

In Islamic law, pus is deemed to be a type of blood. [ Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah]

To be clear, if the pus was flowing over your skin, your wudu would have been invalid. [ibid]

And Allah knows best.
