What Is the Ruling on Giving Zakat to a Masjid?
Mosques often have running costs and maintenance expenses. Shaykh Irshaad will first explain to us who the zakat is intended for. Then, he will indicate the different opinions regarding the use of zakat funds for such purposes, citing which of these opinions is considered the safest.
Shaykh Irshaad Sedick was raised in South Africa in a traditional Muslim family. He graduated from Dar al-Ulum al-Arabiyyah al-Islamiyyah in Strand, Western Cape, under the guidance of the late world-renowned scholar Shaykh Taha Karaan (Allah have mercy on him), where he taught.
