Is It Permissible To Get One’s Hair Highlighted With Colors Like Red or Blue?
Question: Is it permissible for women to get highlights in their hair? Other than black, are there any other color restrictions on dyeing hair? Would it be fine to dye it in dark red or dark blue?
Answer:
Assalamu alaykum,
Thank you for your question. You will find all the details of dyeing hair here:

In short, it is permissible to highlight one’s hair with these colors, but I encourage young women to look at other factors that may affect their decision. Does the hair dye contain halal ingredients? Is one trying to imitate high fashion and immoral women, or is it to please the husband? Does the girl cover her hair? She has no business coloring her hair if she doesn’t cover it, as it would be sinful. Is there any sense in damaging the hair while one is still young? Generally, these products affect the thickness and health of the hair.
Consider using henna and strive to love that which the Prophet loved for his umma. May Allah bless him and grant him peace. May Allah give us the wisdom and guidance to follow His religion and practice it as He wanted us to. May Allah give you the best of this world and the next.
